Peter
Graham was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. His earliest paintings
were figure compositions, but in the 1860's he turned to landscape.
Although eventually residing in London, he returned each year
to Scotland and painted many landscapes of the most rugged and
inaccessible terrains. He captured well the brooding melancholy
of the Highlands.
